We have a rich and vibrant department staffed by talented and enthusiastic teachers and technicians which makes this a wonderful place to learn this fundamental subject and expand your opportunities for art through our CCA programme.
We intend to prepare the students for a world that increasingly pivots around visual, conceptual and communicative awareness.
The faculty at GIS believes that children should learn to express ideas and have a chance to explore creativity using different materials and processes; these skills are discovered through fun thematic projects from the Early Years up to A’levels in Year 13.

Students have the opportunity to try traditional drawing and painting, photography, print-making, design, illustration, sculpture and learn about the context of artists and designers’ work in history.
We are currently developing our photography and computer aided design facilities to enrich the overall experience of our students. The CCA program offers a range of different artistic activities that students can take part in no matter what their level of skill.
We are involved in a number of external competitions, public exhibitions and creative workshops. Highlights from last year were the number of art related CCA opportunities; taking part in the Expat Expo at the convention Centre KLCC; and having art work from all ages exhibited in the SENI gallery Mont. Kiara.
Cross-curricular links are made not only within the school but through other schools as well and this year we are taking part in the SEASAC arts festival.
Why I chose art…
…because it soothes my soul & I find it comforting

Why I chose art…
…because you’re able to experiment with ideas in ways that other subjects cannot.

Why I chose art…
…because it lets you express yourself freely and you can never be wrong!
