A Celebration of Love
I
Like stars in the sky
You paint someone’s dreams
Moonlight falls on your window
Celebrating the night
II
A confession of love
He reciprocates
Embrace ethereal delight
Blinded by euphoric emotions
III
Like a splash of warm water
Their lips meet
Fumbling fingers and trembling reach
Touch defines affection
IV
Fingers interlocked
Their hearts embrace
A seal of unity by the altar
Until death do us part
V
You run to your corners
Misunderstanding supersedes comprehension
Drown not in your sorrows
Love is forgiving
VI
Screams of words paint the walls
Beyond phantasms and dreams
The red ribbon is severed
A new life enters the world
VII
The baby awakens
Clenching his fists
A bundle of joy beyond all measure
Honeyed kisses on his forehead
VIII
Work rips through the bonds
He claims she doesn’t understand
Auntie shields the child’s ears
Innocence shall not be lost
IX
He takes her into his arms
Her locks of obsidian smell so sweet
Timeless, as she is
Feelings shan’t wither through time
X
He peeks through the sheets
Expecting rainbow wrappings
They lie on his bed
Happy Birthday, my son; they say
This is love, this is love.

Author’s Note:
A full cycle of the love between two people. I’m trying to work
on metaphoric poetry which actually makes sense. Constructive
criticism is always welcome.
