Friends

One day, Mei Ling and Sabrina jogged around a garden behind their house. Suddenly, they met Kamala on their way to the playground. ‘Hi!’ said Mei Ling and Sabrina. Kamala waved her hand and smiled back to them.

Sabrina felt a little bit tired therefore invited her friend to sit on a bench near by. While they were resting and taking some fresh air, Mei Ling suddenly asked “Have you finished the essay on peace, racial and harmony that Miss Anizah gave this morning? I don’t know what to write in that essay.” “I also don’t know what the point in that essay,” said Kamala.

“Come on girls, let’s think of some ideas on the essay,” suggested Sabrina to them. Mei Ling and Kamala agreed. They were quiet for a few minutes. “You can see that Malaysia is a peace and harmony country. There is no war,” Sabrina started their conversation.

“Yeah! Everybody in Malaysia lived in harmony although Malaysia filled with many races and religion,” Kamala gave her opinion. Mei Ling still quiet. They thought for another point. ‘Before our country independent, we were colonized by British, Japan and many other big country,’ said Mei Ling.

‘But our leader, Tunku Abdul Rahman had done everything to be an independent our country from all the colonies,’ continued Mei Ling. Kamala and Sabrina listened carefully to what Mei Ling was saying. ‘That is why Tunku Abdul Rahman called “Father of Independence”. We should thank him for his effort,’ Sabrina added some more information.

“We should be grateful because we’re born in this peace and harmony country with many races, religion, tradition and culture. What do you say?” asked Sabrina. They all agreed with Sabrina. After that they all went home.
