Never is so late…

Once upon a time in a small town near Mississippi moved a family with two children. These polite and joyful people were black. One of the two children, William, an 11 years old boy having always a big smile in his face, was so kind and willing to help everyone. Close to his house leaved two brothers Jack, the same age as William, and David 2 years younger. William was so happy and excited, that he will make friends near him and play all the time.

-“Oh mummy” he said, “I love this neighborhood, see, I will have friends” and showed the two brothers.

He than ran into the kitchen grabbed a big piece of cake his mother had just made and headed towards the kids, full of happiness and joy.

-“Hello”, he said, “I am William and this is my small brother Elias. I am so happy that we moved here and especially that I have found you. We can become friends and do so many things together!! Here, I brought you a piece of cake my mother just made, trust me it is delicious”.

And then, the most horrible thing happened. Jack the elder of the two brothers, grabbed the cake from his hands, throw it down, and started stamping on it with his feet.

-“Go away”, he said, “We don’t want to play with black people! You black people should only be slaves”.

A tear dropped from William’s eye, he turned round holding his small brother from the hand and left without saying a word.

The days passed and William played alone, looking at the children across his house that behaved so cruel to him. But he never went near them again, till one day…It was a sunny Saturday morning; all the kids were playing in front of their houses. Suddenly, Jack looses the ball he was playing with and the ball rolls in the middle of the road. William then turns his head and sees a truck turning around the corner and Jack ready to run in the middle of the road to fetch the ball.

-“Oh, my God”, William shouted, “don’t move, stay there, a truck is coming”. William then ran and took the ball and Jack stayed steel at the side of the road. If it wasn’t for William, who knows what could have happened to Jack!

-“Here you go, take your ball”, said William!

Jack, from that moment was thinking over and over again, how that boy saved him even though they were so cruel to him. It doesn’t matter what color you are, he thought. All people are even, no matter color, religion or how rich or poor someone is.

All people have the same feelings and I think I have hurt Williams’s feelings so bad.

Days passed and Jack finally decided to go and apologize for his so bad manners. He then realized that William and his family had moved out from the neighborhood. He felt so bad he could never forgive himself for the way he acted.

-“I lost a very good friend”, he whispered.

Twenty years have passed since that day. Jack now has a wonderful family. He married a black woman and his family was bigger having two beautiful black children, Sara, four years old and William one year old.

W I L L I A M, his best friend that never had the chance to meet again and tell him how sorry he was!!!

It is a good story, but there is some grammatic and spelling mistakes.
