Once upon a time, there was an island in the middle of the
Atlantic Ocean. On that island there were three tribes-Humuhumu,
Nukunuku and Apua'a. All the three tribes could not
co-operate with each other.
There were wars,
kilings, quarelling everywhere.The little children, women
and senior citizens were sent into the jungle for safety.
But not all of them went there. Keira was brave and not a
racist girl. She was of mixed tribe. Her father was from
Humuhumu tribe, her mother was a Nukunukuan and her cousins
were Apua'an. She liked all of the tribes and wanted them to
live in peace and harmony.
So, she cut her
hair and dressed as warrior to fight for justice in the war.
She fought for days and nights. One day, all the three tribe
leaders were impressed with her tactics and strategies. So,
they called her to ask whether she wanted to join force in
their army.
She said that
she wanted to join all the tribes as she was of mixed of all
three tribes. So, she decided to make an agreement with the
three leaders. All of them agreed and realised that they
should live in peace and racial harmony on the island.
When the
agreement was signed, the little island was given a name. A
combination of all three tribes living on that island.It is
called Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. The name of the island seems
long but it is worth all the sacrifices.
