This collaborative activity was very enjoyable. We were first put into mixed groups and there was at least one person from each participating school in the group. We then had to cut out hexagons from white art block paper. We each had about six pieces. Then we drew and painted things which represented our own country. While we painted, we asked each other what the pictures depicted and we learnt a little about each country. We had a relaxing time painting and in two hours, all the hexagons were decorated with colourful pictures.
Unfortunately, we could not complete the second phase of the project because it would have been too difficult to take back home. Each participating school was given an envelope at random. We were told that when we got together with our own group, we would then have to piece the hexagons together to make up a picture. We wondered if this was going to work. As you can see, it did and we are all proud of our masterpieces which hang in our respective schools!
