The Homestay Experience

I had my own room and my host and her family were really nice to me and made me feel like part of the family. The food was sometimes too spicy or too different but I always had the opportunity to choose something else. I will definitely keep in touch with my host because it is good to have friends all over the world.

I had to share a room but it was large so there was enough space. My host parents were very nice and helpful and the food I ate every day was very delicious. My host is very nice and we talked and laughed a lot. I enjoyed my stay very much and wish I didn't have to leave so soon. Time flew by!

I had my own room and it was very comfortable. I tried a lot of Thai food as well as Malay and Chinese food. It was a good experience and I found that not everything that looked strange tasted bad. My host’s parents were very nice and hospitable. I had a lot of fun with my host. She is patient when I don’t understand and we got along well. We have promised to keep in touch by e-mail or MSN.

I enjoyed my home stay in Malaysia. My host and his family were very hospitable and I really could not have asked for a nicer partner. I hope to stay in touch with my partner.

My host’s house is so cool. It is really big and I was very comfortable. I enjoyed the food very much and was never forced to try anything that looked strange. My host’s parents were very nice and thoughtful and treated me like their own child. My host was also very nice and caring. She made sure I was well looked after and she is like a sister to me now.

My host’s home was very nice and comfortable. I got to try all types of food; Malaysian, Chinese, Indonesian and I loved it all. My host’s parents were very kind and treated me like a son. My host and I got along well. He is a cool guy and we became good friends. I will never forget this home stay.

Being a host was a really nice experience. My partner was very nice and we got along well. We had an enjoyable time and made the most of our time together. It was a very memorable week for me. I am glad I took part in this AEC Project.

I was nervous about being a host at first. I was careful that the food we cooked wasn't too spicy for my guest. My partner was very polite and friendly. We got along well. I really enjoyed the project as it was a good experience. I am glad my mom allowed me to participate in CulKal 06.

I got along well with my partner. She was nice and very funny. It wasn’t difficult for us at all and the week turned out well. It was a great experience. Some things were totally different e.g. food, but we had similar interests like boys and shopping.

My partner was generally friendly and open so we got along well. He was very easy to please and a jovial person. The home stay was a good experience as we learnt about each other’s culture and about life in other parts of the world. I am glad I took part in this project.

This was our second opportunity to host students and it was just as enjoyable this time, perhaps even more so as we felt like veterans and were more comfortable and confident. Our partners were very friendly and we had a great time together. However, they tended to want to stay with their friends but that was okay. We still had time to get to know each other in the evenings.
