Project outline
What is the project about?
Cultural Kaleidoscope involves the bringing together of students from schools
in both Asia and Europe for a one-week conference in Kuala Lumpur. Each
school Is represented by five students and an accompanying teacher.
What are the objectives of the project?
- Students from participating countries will have the opportunity to interact
Face-2-Face with their partners in an informal setting and forge lasting
friendships.
- Collaborative work in mixed groups will enable students to share their
own culture and learn more about other cultures at the same time. All
participants will also visit places of interest and learn about local
craft by taking part in workshops, thus allowing them a taste of the local
flavour of the host country.
- To foster international mindedness and global understanding among the
multi-ethnic participants.
- The home stay concept will give the guest students a first hand experience
of the local customs and traditions of a local family. It encourages tolerance
and acceptance of other cultures, important values which should be stressed
in the war-strife world of today
- Through display work and presentations made at each school after the
conference, more students will learn about the project and be able to
share virtually in the experiences of their peers. This will encourage
them to participate in other future projects.
