Results of Parent
Satisfaction Survey
I would once again like to thank all of
those parents who completed the on-line parent satisfaction survey.
As
promised I have attached the results of the survey to this week’s newsletter.
This year, as last year, the survey was carried out on-line and the survey
software automatically collates the results to remove any possibility of bias.
Overall the results are very encouraging with the majority of areas surveyed
gaining well over 80% satisfaction.
The
survey results are very useful to the management of the school as they assist
us in identifying areas for future improvement and development. Our
satisfaction survey has been carried out annually since the 2001/2 academic
year and the results have enabled us to direct our attention to specific
improvement areas. This has resulted in a significant improvement in the levels
of parent satisfaction in nearly all areas of operation.
Particular
improvement can be seen in the areas of maintenance and cleaning, provision of
educational facilities and the opportunity for students to use computers and
participate in ICT. These high levels of satisfaction do not mean that we will
become complacent about our levels of service to students, quite the contrary;
we are always striving to be better.

The
school is currently undertaking a 5 year review of accreditation and over the
past 9 months, in preparation for this, staff have
been conducting a self study on the schools operations and performance in each
of the accredited areas. This week two CIS visitors have been at GIS carrying
out observations, interviewing staff, interviewing parents and meeting with
members of the Board of Governors and school management.
I would
like to thank all of those who have given so much time to assisting this
process. Although the final report is yet to be published the visiting team
have very favourable opinions about GIS. Once the report has been published, I
shall inform parents about the findings.
