Youtube award winner 2017

From left: Maximus, Jayden and Miller.”Coding the Future” team won first place in the Youtube Award 2017 in recognition of the team’s ability to create a high quality short film. The team consists of Jayden Walker, Maximus Abela and Miller Sheridan in Year 8.

Share some of your proud achievements in life so far.

  • Max: I won first place in Fobisia coding in 2015 and 2017. I have a youtube channel featuring coding tutorials. I completed grade 3 in piano.
  • Jayden: I produce Hip Hop and EDM music and recently started a Youtube channel.
  • Miller: Getting picked for trials for a worldwide football team.

What do you aspire to be when you grow up?

  • Max: Computer programmer.
  • Jayden: Deejay, music producer or TV host.
  • Miller: A professional footballer or basketballer.

Describe GIS in three words.

  • Max: Exhilarating, opportunity and enjoyable.
  • Jayden: Challenging, hardworking and fun.
  • Miller: Fun, cool, friendly.

What does GIS offer to bring out the best in you.

  • Max: The opportunities to do what we want to become successful in anything we want and the teachers help us in any way they can.
  • Jayden: The freedom to do what we want to do and not what we are asked to do.
  • Miller: Education.

  • Max: ​I wish I could be like my mom! She’s a great person and has been an inspiration to me! I wish to be a computer programmer.
  • Jayden: I had a viral youtube channel that shows the world who I am and what I do and be an inspiration to people.
  • Miller: I wish to to be a good student.
