Dr Gianfranco Conti, French and Spanish teacher – GIS Spotlight | Blog

Dr Gianfranco Conti

Share some of the milestones in your life.
Firstly, the three nomination for the prestigious TES (Times Educational) Best Resources Contributor Award, which I finally won in 2015. This led to the creation of my language learning website www.language-gym.com which is currrently accessed on average by 3,000 schools around the world per day. Finally, the publication of my book ‘The Language Teacher Toolkit’, in February this year with another internationally renowned blogger.

I wish…that there was more empathy, tolerance and respect in this world and that every teacher consciously devoted a substantial amount of their daily efforts (in and outside the classroom) to help make this happen.

What’s your favourite activity/project at GIS?
Apart from my classroom teaching – which I still enjoy thoroughly – my favourite activity is definitely the Enquiry Days projects organised by James Wellings, Andrew Rankin and Alex Turner, as they truly challenge and stimulate students and teachers beyond their comfort zone and tap into the children’s entrepreneurial skills in a big way. It is incredible how creative and adaptive our GIS children can get throughout the event!
