Complete the sentence: I wish…I knew what music to listen to. It was easy when I was younger, you just listened to what everyone else was talking about. No one talks about what music they are listening to anymore!

What is your happy space?
Running, swimming or cycling hard and thinking about how grateful I am for my family and the world around me.

Tell us a less-known fact about you.
Most less-known facts are for a reason! I once appeared on Japanese television as one of the three most notable aspects of a small rural town. The first was apples, the second was cabbages, the third was me. Proud moment.

What is your favourite activity/project at GIS?
I really like our Parent Workshops, I enjoyed being part of them. I also really like the staff wellbeing sessions. I think I like these two for the same reasons – people are genuine, friendly and supportive.

How and why did you get into the teaching profession?
I was interested in society/politics/making a difference and ended up believing that working with children and families (i.e teaching and leading in schools) is one of the most powerful things we can do to make a difference in people’s lives.

What is the greatest thing of being a teacher?
Being forced to constantly be at the level of whoever you are trying to support, trying to understand their world and then (hopefully) seeing the progress they make as a result.

Describe GIS in three words.
Buzzing, professional, progressive.

What would be a good theme song for your life?
Green Onions – Booker T and the MGs. Great tune, no words!
