The GIS Scholarship Programme 2024

This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for scholarships by Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur; herein referred to as “GIS”. You must read these Terms and Conditions in full. Upon acceptance of a scholarship from the School, it is understood that you have read and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. 

Please note that these Terms & Conditions are in addition to the Terms & Conditions governing enrolment and admission as stated on the ‘Application for Admission’ form. 


Applications must be submitted by Sunday, 25 February 2024, 11.59pm. Late applications will not be considered.

An ‘application’ refers to the submission of a fully completed online ‘Application for Admission’ form to Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur with all the documents as stated on the checklist.

The acceptance of an application is at the absolute discretion of the School. The School reserves the right to decline any application and is not obliged to offer any justification for the rejection of any application.

Scholarship Restrictions

  • This GIS Scholarship 2024 is available to students who are currently NOT attending Garden International School. 
  • Successful scholarship applicant(s) are not able to receive more than one type of scholarship per academic year.
  • Scholarships are valid for two academic years, provided that the scholars maintain their academic performance and continued contributions to academics and/or co-curricular area/s at an extremely high level.

Application Success

Successful scholarship applicant(s) will receive a Letter of Offer, detailing the scholarship benefits. If you do not wish to accept a scholarship that has been offered, please advise us immediately in writing.

Successful scholarship applicant(s) will enjoy a waiver of the Application and Registration Fees. The applicable Tuition Fee, Deposit and any other enrolment fees will be stated on the Letter of Offer. Successful scholarship applicant(s) may receive a scholarship of over RM100,000.00 on tuition fees over the span of two (2) years of A Level education at Garden International School.

How will the Offer of Place and Scholarship be valid

The scholarship committee comprises the GIS Principal, Head of Secondary, and a representative from the Leadership Team who will interview all shortlisted candidates and meet to determine the final scholarship awards. A member of the relevant academic team may also be part of the selection process, depending on the nature of the scholarship application. 

The full sum of the applicable fees as stated on the Letter of Offer must be received by the School on or before the Last Date to Accept the Offer. Payment must be made in Ringgit Malaysia.

The offer of place and scholarship will no longer be valid if:

    1. the full sum of the applicable fees is not received by the School on the Last Date to Accept the Offer as stated on the Letter of Offer; or
    2. the offer of place and scholarship is declined.

Eligibility Requirement

All scholarships are awarded on the basis that your child will maintain full time enrollment in their  approved year group. Your child’s scholarship will be terminated if their enrolment status changes, for example if they discontinue their school studies at GIS.

To retain your scholarship your child must:

  • Adhere to all of the school’s policies and regulations;
  • Comply with the Terms & Conditions governing enrolment and admission;
  • Maintain their Malaysian citizenship status;
  • Meet all criteria outlined in the Letter of Offer.

Scholarship Termination

The School may terminate your child’s scholarship at any time if he/she:

  • fails to meet the scholarship’s terms and conditions;
  • fails to maintain satisfactory academic progress;
  • is suspended or excluded from school during their course of study;
  • provides incorrect, false or misleading information or withheld relevant information on the scholarship application or after receiving a scholarship offer.


Please note that if your child’s scholarship is terminated due to any of the above reasons, you shall be required to repay some or all of the scholarship amount.

Publicity & Promotion

If your child is offered a scholarship, their details including name, photograph, video and details of the scholarship awarded may be used by the School and/or partner organisations for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the GIS’ website; social media channels; print and electronic media.  If you do not wish for your child’s details to be used for promotional purposes, you must notify the School in writing prior to accepting the scholarship. Do note that this may affect the status of the scholarship awarded.

If your child attends events held by the School, photos and videos of your child at the event (along with their name and scholarship), may be used for promotional purposes by the School, TEG Group and or our partner organisations, including but not limited to: the GIS’ website; social media channels; print and electronic media.

It is agreed that the use of these photographs and videos shall in no way be used in any other forum other than official School business. The scholarship recipient also waives the right to inspect or approve the finished product, the advertising copy or other matter that may be used in connection therewith or the use to which it may be applied. If you do not wish for photographs and videos of your child to be used in this way, you must notify the School in writing prior to accepting the scholarship. Do note that this may affect the status of the scholarship awarded.

The School reserves the right to amend the Scholarship Terms and Conditions for commencing and continuing scholarship holders. Any questions about these Terms and Conditions should be directed to the School.
