Value Added Results
What is Value Added?
‘Value-added’ is a universal measure of the progress that pupils make over a period of time, in relation to their starting point and in comparison to other pupils across the world. It is calculated by comparing what a child is predicted to achieve, according to standardised testing, with what a child actually achieves. Factors such as the quality of teaching and learning are known to have a profound impact on a student’s progress, which is why schools’ value-added scores can differ so much.
Our Value Added
We are incredibly proud that the Value-Added (VA) result for our 2022/23 GIS Graduates continues the positive trend at GIS, with our A Level students achieving +0.8 grade higher on average than forecast, and our IGCSE students achieving on average an incredible +1.39 higher on average than forecast. This means that, on average, in addition to a student’s aptitude for learning, the GIS experience improved each student’s outcome by between +0.8 and +1.39 of a grade. This is a true testament to the quality of our personalised approach to teaching and learning and the dedication of our teachers and students.
Our value-added results are based on data provided by GL Education, The Fischer Family Trust (FFT) and the Center for Evaluation & Monitoring specialising in the analysis of school performance data and providing value-added analysis.
