What next? The following information is very important. Please take a few moments to read:

Step 1 – Complete an Application
Please forward the following documents and items listed below. It is possible we may require additional information or verification of address, immigration status, or other items on your application.  PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO PROCESS ANY APPLICATION UNTIL ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION AND THE APPLICATION FEE HAVE BEEN RECEIVED

  • A recent colour passport size Photograph (with a white background) of Child, Parents, and Guardian (if applicable)
  • A copy of Child’s Birth Certificate, Passport, Identity Card (Malaysian) and Visa (non-Malaysian)
  • A copy of both Parents’ Passport, Identity Card (Malaysian) and Visa (non-Malaysian)
  • Most recent year’s school report and testimonial regarding character and ability from the Principal/Class Teacher
  • Medical and Health Record form: Download Here
  • IGCSE Options form for Year 10 applicants (Forms available with Admissions)
  • A Level Options form for Year 12 applicants (Forms available with Admissions)
  • Application Fee – A non-refundable and non-transferable fee, payable in one payment by online bank transfer or a cross cheque to “GARDEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SDN BHD”. See Fee Schedule for bank details.

Submission of an application does not guarantee a place. As year groups can fill up very quickly, where possible, the School will try and provide a realistic assessment of the chances and possible timing for admission. However, like most international and private schools, the enrolment situation is dynamic and often unpredictable.

 Step 2 – Assessment

The nature of the assessment varies for different year groups and may require meeting a member of the academic staff. The assessment process is designed to ensure that the placement of all children will best meet their educational and personal requirements. The assessment is also designed to help ascertain whether a child would require specific support.

Please note that where assessment material is used, the material is private and a property of the School. Parents are not entitled to view or obtain copies prior to or after the child’s assessment.

 Step 3 – Application Review

Applications will be reviewed taking into consideration various factors, including the results of the assessment (where applicable), school reports, subject options at IGCSE/A Levels, English language ability level, child’s behaviour and availability of places. The School reserves the right to assign priorities for admission or refuse admission for any reason we deem fit. Where places are insufficient, applicants remain on the queue.

Step 4 – Offer of Place

If the application is successful, an offer of a place will be made.  An offer of admission to the school is also based on the belief that a child will benefit from the curriculum offered and that his/her admission will support the education of existing students. It is possible a child is accepted on specific conditions.
The acceptance of the offer must be made by paying the applicable fees on or before the stipulated date on the letter of offer. The payment of the required fees constitutes the acceptance of a place and therein confirms the place for the child.

Expatriate Applicant
Garden International School does not provide boarding facilities, so students must be living with their families who possess valid visas issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department.  Admission to and continued status as a student of the school is conditional on the student possessing a valid visa as well. The parent shall undertake to keep the School informed of any change in the status during the child’s enrolment at the School.
For Malaysian citizens, admission to, and continued status as a student of the School in Years 1 to 13 is conditional on the policies set by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

Step 5 – Admission & Placement

Placement of the child is at the absolute discretion of the School, taking into consideration various factors, including the child’s gender, nationality, academic ability, the level of achievement relative to the School’s current students and child’s behavior.
