GIS continues Apple Distinguished School Status
We are delighted to announce that Garden International School (GIS) has once again been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022-2025. This prestigious recognition acknowledges our dedication using technology to enhance learning and empower our students as creators, communicators, collaborators, and critical thinkers. As a leading international school, we embrace technological advancements to provide a world-class education that prepares our learners for the future.
Since 2012, GIS has been at the forefront of integrating innovative technology in education. Through our 1:1 iPad program, we equip students with powerful tools for exploration, creation, and collaboration. In 2015, we became an Apple Distinguished School, marking the start of our journey as a centre of innovation and educational excellence.
Yan Cooper, a Year 4 Teacher, also adds, “With Apple iPads, we have the option of much more flexibility. The children can work in different spaces using apps. We can take them outside, we can move them around, they can communicate much better. Collaborative learning is a real strong point.”
Innovation and Development of Digital Learning Program
To celebrate our successful reapplication for Apple Distinguished School accreditation, Travis Marshall from Apple visited the school to present us with our plaque and a new banner. He praised GIS for our commitment to continuous innovation and the development of our Digital Learning program. He also highlighted our recent application as one of the strongest that Apple received, with our showcase video in particular standing out. The video highlights how GIS have embraced technological advancements and have shifted our paradigms and models to provide a world-class education for our learners.
To remain committed to staying ahead, we have embraced advanced technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, AI web-based applications, and interactive data visualisation software. These tools revolutionise the learning experience, enabling our students to engage with content in exciting new ways. By incorporating these cutting-edge technologies into our curriculum, we ensure our students develop lifelong learning skills for the future workplace.
Shalom Benjamin, a Year 2 Teacher, says, “The ability to use iPads and Apple products has been transformative in terms of preparing for teaching and learning. It provides an easily accessible way to get the children involved and engaged in lessons.”

Research and development are central to our pursuit of educational innovation. We have created tailored in-house platforms to meet our community’s unique needs. Our data-driven decision-making has gained international recognition, positioning us as an excellence centre in assessment data use. Recently, our talented staff shared their expertise at global EdTech conferences, inspiring others and contributing to the educational community.
