As an ‘Apple Distinguished’ school, GIS uses the latest technology to enhance learning and provide a 1:1 device programme and use Google Apps for Education as our main learning platform.

Numerous studies have shown that the success of any school is directly linked to the quality of their teachers. We are proud of our exceptional teaching cohort and the professional learning opportunities available at GIS. All of our academic staff are provided two hours per week of dedicated professional learning time, which is tailored to each teacher’s development needs. This ensures that our teachers are well equipped to ensure that their students are able to flourish.
Conferences and workshops
Professional Development
During dedicated professional development time, teachers are able to explore pedagogy, critically reflect, collaborate, visit other schools, lead and participate in professional communities or further their studies. All members of the school community are also provided opportunities to discuss their professional development needs through annual cycles of performance management. Our staff regularly attend conferences and workshops offered by regional organisations such as EARCOS and FOBISIA, with many of our teachers and senior leaders regularly leading sessions which reinforces Garden International School’s position as a centre of professional excellence in Kuala Lumpur.
