Beyond the Classroom

Beyond the Classroom

One of our goals at Garden International School is to provide our students with a holistic education. We therefore actively encourage school visits and co-curricular activities to help students to develop their talents outside of their academic achievements.

Regular school visits to places relevant to the curriculum serve to stir up our students’ interests in their subjects and provide a first-hand look as to how their learning is related to the practical world. Recent visits have included a trip to watch a performance of the Merchant of Venice in Singapore, visits to Thean Hou Temple and Royal Selangor Pewter.

Garden International School offers a vast range of co-curricular activities for students, covering both competitive and recreational sports, arts, drama and music, amongst others.

When it comes to sports, Garden International School boasts a proud tradition of students competing against international school teams in both Kuala Lumpur and further afield, and is an essential part of everyday school life.

For those students who prefer sports for recreation, clubs such as the Badminton Club, Tennis Academy and GIS Aquatics welcome many students eager to develop their skills.

Garden International School regularly put on theatre performances, musical recitals and fine art shows to showcase and celebrate our students’ achievements. These also serve to reinforce their passion for arts and are a great time for parents to appreciate their children’s talents.
