Parents, Teachers and Friends (PTF)
At GIS, we are proud of our very active Parents, Teachers and Friends (PTF) Committee. Comprised of a dedicated team of parent volunteers, our PTF works extremely hard to ensure all parents in the school feel involved and supported in all areas of school life.
“The PTF vision is for all parents to see and feel GIS to be a place of enjoyment, support, learning and development for them and their children.“
Here’s what is available for our GIS Parents:
There’s always plenty of activities and trips for our GIS parents to get involved in and lots of great opportunities to meet new and existing parents. Also for newcomers our Parent Buddy Program helps and supports our new families in the GIS community.
Giving back to our wider community and those in need is important to the GIS Community. Therefore, throughout the year we run activities to raise money and support our nominated charities.
Parents, Teachers and Friends (PTF) provides a communicative platform that covers areas such as newcomers, community building, health & safety, sports, cafeteria, environment, communication and community service. The PTF Committee helps and support parental views and continually works to develop stronger bonds in the Parent/School partnership
GIS is passing the Growth mind set to it’s parents by having weekly Parent workshops run by a wide variety of speakers ranging from GIS Staff, GIS Alumni and also some external professionals. These workshop are not only a great way to learn about topic ranging from safeguarding our children to classroom learning to talks on health; they are also a great way to meet new and existing parents.
We are currently facing the most challenging situation any of us have ever experienced in our lifetimes, and keeping our community spirit at an all time high, we’ve recently launched a platform for the community to connect, ask questions, share tips, find new ideas – but most of all feel supported.
