Garden International School (GIS) has officially opened the doors to our brand-new RM100 million Sports Complex, marking a bold leap forward in how we nurture excellence — not just in academics, but in athletics, wellbeing, and community spirit.
Spanning five levels and 200,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art facility represents years of planning, dedication, and a shared vision: to create a space where our students can grow stronger, push boundaries, and discover the power of teamwork and resilience.
Setting New Standards in School Sports
The new GIS Sports Complex is designed to rival professional sporting venues. It features:
🏊♂️ An Olympic-size swimming pool
🏀 Two full-length indoor basketball courts
🎾 Two tennis courts
💪 A fully equipped gym and fitness suite
These world-class amenities respond to the remarkable rise of our student athletes — many of whom now represent their states and Malaysia in national and international competitions.
This Sports Complex and underground car park have been eight years in the making. It’s a project designed to meet the needs of both our students and the wider community. For our students, it’s about helping them push their limits, build resilience, and grow together as teammates.”

Designed for Students, Built for Community
The new development also tackles one of Mont Kiara’s long-standing challenges — traffic. Beneath the complex lies a modern underground car park with improved access points to Jalan Kiara 3 and 5, creating a safer and smoother experience for families during drop-off and pick-up.
This project reflects our entrepreneurial mindset in action — identifying a need, exploring innovative solutions, and delivering a result that benefits everyone. That same mindset is what we aim to nurture in our students.”

Beyond school use, GIS is extending the facility’s benefits to the local community. The swimming pool and sports hall are open to the public, supporting neighbourhood wellbeing and encouraging grassroots sports development.
Investing in the Future of Learning
This Sports Complex is part of Phase 1 of GIS’s ongoing campus transformation, which began with the new basement car park, an alfresco dining area, and a FIFA-standard youth football field.
Looking ahead, Phase 2 will see an additional RM85 million investment in a new Performing Arts Centre — expanding the ways GIS students can explore creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.

A Milestone Ahead of Our 75th Anniversary
As GIS approaches its 75th anniversary in 2026, the launch of this Sports Complex stands as a proud symbol of what defines our school — intentional, values-driven education that prioritises the long-term growth of every learner.
This milestone also paves the way for the next chapter in the Taylor’s Schools journey, as Ms Angelina Tee prepares to take on the role of President of Taylor’s Schools — becoming the first female leader of a regional K–12 education group in Southeast Asia.
With this new facility, GIS reaffirms its commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential — in the classroom, on the field, and beyond.
