Garden International School is proud to share that we have won a K12 Partnership Excellence Award, recognising the work our community has done to strengthen education and support schools across Malaysia. This award celebrates our commitment to collaboration, innovation, and using education to make a positive difference.
Over the past few years, we have been working closely with Malaysian schools, community organisations, and global partners to build stronger pathways for digital learning. Through TeachMeets, shared resources, and professional development sessions, we have supported teachers across the country in developing confidence and practical skills in computing education. Our partnership with the Raspberry Pi Foundation has helped bring global expertise to Malaysia, and together with Google Malaysia, we contributed to the development of the country’s first national AI curriculum, shared later with ASEAN nations.
Our students have been equally active in shaping meaningful change. They have refurbished computers for families and learners who need them, built CO2 monitoring systems for local schools, and designed apps that support wellbeing, learning, and sign language accessibility. Many of these projects began as passion ideas and have grown into long-term initiatives that students continue to develop at university and beyond.
Our teachers have contributed internationally as well. Garden International School has published ten articles in Hello World Magazine, reaching more than 100,000 educators worldwide. These contributions have helped improve access to high-quality computing education and have supported teachers globally in adopting creative, inclusive approaches in their classrooms.
We are also deeply committed to community partnership. Our night school programme supports teachers from refugee schools through training, mentoring, and access to school facilities. Alongside this, our students have helped establish and support several learning centres for refugee children over the past few years. These efforts reflect our belief that education should build opportunities and strengthen communities.
Winning this award is a meaningful recognition of the hard work of our students, teachers, and partners. Most importantly, it reflects a shared belief that when schools work together, everyone benefits. We remain committed to supporting Malaysian education, broadening access to digital skills, and developing young people who use their learning to make a positive impact on the world.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. We look forward to continuing to grow these partnerships and creating even more opportunities in the years ahead.”
