Garden International School (GIS) kicked off the spring season with great enthusiasm by hosting its eagerly awaited Spring Ball Fundraising Gala at the esteemed Four Seasons Hotel. On March 2, 2024, the school community eagerly assembled, including parents, teachers, friends, sponsors, and supporters, brimming with excitement as they anticipated an evening filled with celebration, where everyone came together for a good cause, enjoying the festivities and spreading joy.
The Passionate PTF Team
A dedicated team makes every successful event possible, and our Spring Ball Gala was certainly no exception. The Parents, Teachers, Friends Committee (PTF), poured their hearts into planning, coordinating and orchestrating every detail of the gala.
Led by Emilia Matlaszek, who brought her visionary leadership as the PTF Events and Ball Committee Lead, alongside the committed efforts of Jeanne Cerff as PTF Chairperson, Tara Paes as PTF Treasurer, Wendy Arakawa managing Communications, and Jessica Sidhu overseeing collaboration with the NGOs, each member played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the evening. Basia Milewska’s creative flair as the Ball Committee Graphic Design lead, paired with the tireless dedication of Ball Committee members Shann E, Renee Lok and Amanda Yang, ensured that every aspect of the event was meticulously executed.
A Tribute to Sponsors
The evening’s remarkable success was also largely thanks to the unwavering generosity of our sponsors. As the evening progressed, the energy in the room grew more vibrant. There was music playing, delicious food, and people chatting happily. In the midst of all this, laughter filled the air, showing how great it is when everyone comes together for a common reason.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the Spring Ball Gala symbolised hope and compassion. It represented the enduring generosity that defines the GIS community—a collective effort to make a positive impact. At its core, the GIS Spring Ball Gala wasn’t just an event—it was a true celebration of humanity. It seamlessly merged elegance with kindness, where every person in attendance played a pivotal role in shaping a better future for our community and beyond.

The GIS Spring Ball Fundraising Gala wasn’t just another event; it represented a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the community. This heartfelt initiative aimed not only to bring people together but also to support local NGOs that champion causes important to both children and parents in the GIS family. This year, the spotlight shone on the exceptional efforts of two deserving organisations: the Free Tree Society and Dignity for Children Foundation, whose impactful work resonates deeply within the community. The true measure of success for any fundraising event lies in its ability to create a real impact. We are thrilled to share that we raised RM42,000, which will be evenly distributed between both charities.
