This June, we showcased our latest Primary production, Shrek The Musical Jr., and we couldn’t be prouder of our talented Primary students who presented this magical production. It was truly a captivating experience that transported all of us into the whimsical world of Shrek, filled with laughter, heartwarming moments, and unforgettable songs.
Shrek The Musical Jr. is an enchanting adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, and it took the audience on a remarkable journey. From Shrek’s quest to rescue Princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon to the hilarious encounters with characters like Donkey and the villainous Lord Farquaad, the musical delivered a heartwarming reminder that true beauty lies within.
Our Primary students showcased their incredible talent and dedication as they brought the beloved characters of Shrek to life on stage. They rehearsed tirelessly, pouring energy and creativity into their performances, and the result was a mesmerising show that delighted everyone who attended.
I am immensely proud of the number of students involved in this year’s Primary production and the tremendous effort they have put in over this term.

The performances of Shrek The Musical Jr. took place at the Grand Hall on 12th, 13th & 14th June, and the response from the 1300-strong audience over the three days was overwhelmingly positive. It was heartwarming to see families, students, and members of the local community come together to support our Primary students and experience the magic of live theatre.
As we celebrate the success of Shrek The Musical Jr., we remain committed to fostering creativity and talent in our students. Our Music and Drama club serves as a platform for artistic exploration and provides opportunities for our students to develop essential skills, build confidence, and form strong social connections. Shrek The Musical Jr. was a true testament to the remarkable synergy between music and drama at Garden International School.
